Pat Carroll Obituary

Pat Caroll R.I.PA Furnace Green Gran has said farewell to her childhood sweetheart after the 'man who always made her laugh' died following a massive stroke.
Granddad and proud father Pat Carroll, 56, of Yarmouth Close, passed away on Tuesday, June 26 after never waking up I from a coma.
Melanie, Pat's wife of 35 years, said she would never forget the popular man who had been at the heart of Crawley for most of his life.
She said: "He was such a wonderful man, now wherever I go now people stop me and want to talk about him. He was so fun loving and generous to a fault - he would help anyone. He never said a bad thing about anyone.
"He was dearly loved by everyone he touched so many people's lives. He just made people laugh so much!".
The couple celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary and Pat's 56th birthday while Pat was unconscious in St George's Hospital.
Melanie explained: "We were just 13 when we met; childhood sweethearts and we were married for 35 years. We celebrated our 35th anniversary and Pat's 56th birthday when he was in hospital. He was unconscious but we knew he could hear us. We filled his room with balloons, friends and family. It really meant a lot to us."
Sports mad Pat played rugby at Reigate and Redhill Rugby club until he was 45, where he was affectionately known as 'the tank'. Melanie joked: "The next oldest was only 24'".
Dad-of-three Pat was also involved with football, helping to organise football tournaments with Worth Park Rangers and being heavily involved with the management of Three Bridges Football Club.
Pat worked at Gatwick Handling for 29 years before he took redundancy and started up his own business acting as a courier through Aerotron for aircraft parts.
Melanie claimed the shock of the family's loss still hadn't sunk in, but said the support she had received from well-wishers was amazing.
She said: "We knew he was popular but didn't think this many people would be getting in contact with us to say how much he was missed.
"1 have had people sending flowers from Australia that I've never heard of to say. how much he meant to them, even people he went to school with at St Wilfrid's have been sending tributes."
Pat leaves behind his wife Melanie, sons James 28, Ross, 26 and Scott 28 and granddaughter Megan, 7.
The funeral, will take place at 4.30pm on' Friday July 6 at Surrey and Sussex Crematoria all flowers are welcome. Donations to St Georges Hospital, Tooting' and the Stroke Association.
