Another fantastic team display by Reigate's youngsters

This really is a great group of lads, today showed just how good they are as a squad and how clinical we can be in attack
- David Hooper, U16’s Assistant Coach

Reigate U16’s gained another Surrey League win this weekend, running out 40-17 victors at home against a spirited Richmond RFC.

The promising crop of youngsters came into this match feeling confident after a 36-5 away victory to Haslemere the previous weekend, with well fought victories against Chobham RFC and Lewes RFC already secured this season.

There were tries on the day for Ethan Ryder, Henry Davey, Victor Burlacu, Will Stockhausen and Freddie Horton, as well as a fantastic solo effort from Lucas Tombleson who - taking the ball straight from a restart – accelerated down the wing and beat would be tacklers as he cut in field to cross under the sticks. Freddie Horton had an excellent afternoon with his kicking, slotting five of the six conversions.

“This really is a great group of lads, today showed just how good they are as a squad and how clinical we can be in attack”, U16’s Assistant Coach David Hooper said post-match, “there’s some bits we need to clean up on the defensive side of the ball – we’ll cover that at training, but it’d be fantastic to get a win next weekend at Twickenham RFC and complete a clean sweep in November!”

The U16’s have 3 more fixtures this side of Christmas, with more friendlies and the Quins Cup competition to look forward to in the New Year.
