Reigate U14's continued their excellent start to the season with another comprehensive win. With almost the full squad to select from, Reigate started with a strong line up and were quickly out of the blocks with two tries in the first 5 minutes from Ryan Johnson and Jack Love.
Reigate forwards started to dominate the breakdown in the first half and provide an excellent platform for the backs to work from. Some excellent attacking lines from the backs saw winger Ryan Johnson over for his second try which Owen Sheasby then converted for the 2 points.
Reigate continued the scoring with a 60 metre break from Jack Love to add his second again converted by Owen Sheasby. Owen then added another try himself before the break and duly converted for the extra points.
Wholesale changes were made by both sides at half time and the game started slowly in the second half. Chipstead started to get some joy at the scrum and off this platform scored an excellent try after sustained pressure.
Reigate then lost a player to the sin bin for a high tackle and had to defend against a Chipstead side growing in confidence and a player up. The next score however was from Reigate and Owen Sheasby scored his second try after an excellent run.
Chipstead replied shortly after with an opportunistic try after a mix up in the Reigate defence behind their own try line. The game continued to be contested with some excellent play from both sides. Reigate finished the game with a well worked try scored by Sam Dolan after more hard work by the forwards.
This was a really good performance by Reigate who are adapting to the new rules this year very quickly. With Cranleigh up next in a couple of weeks this is going to be a challenging season for the U14's.
