Saturday saw Crawley Vets Lads / Dads team host Reigate Vets Lads / Dads on a magnificent day fit for some champagne rugby albeit played more like port than champagne! Reigate have seen some of their youth come through the ranks before to step up and play senior rugby, with Ewan Murphy, Ethan Marler-Cambell, Gabe Chalmers, Jacob Burgess and Owen Griffiths playing in the 1st XV, Gabe running out with his dad Craig and Owen with his dad Julian in the past.

Saturday saw 7 of the current crop of young players play their first senior game for the club, coming all the way through the youth set up at Reigate Rugby Club. Sam Colbourne, George Cosby, Cameron Allen, Adam Gatland, Jamie Creed, Adam Youd and Joe England. It was an extra special day for three sets of coaches who also are their dads. Elliott and Joe, Mike and Jamie and Drew and Adam. It’s been 18 years in the making and we could not have been prouder.
